Welcome to the Postdoc-Young-PI Workshop! Our goal is to bring together senior postdocs and young PIs in neuoscience from across Europe. Even though postdoc and young PIs haven often spent about the same time in the adacemic system, young PIs have recently made the step towards academic independence. We aim to create a platform where postdocs and young PIs can exchange about career transitions to foster career development and instigate novel collaborations.
To create a productive environment, we invite participants working on similar topics in neuroscience motived to collaborate on projects and grant applications in the future.

Topics

  • A focus on understanding the development, maintenance or resolution of one or more symptoms associated with anxiety, depression and/or psychosis. Please state which specific symptom(s) you are planning to investigate.
  • Projects that use computational neuroscience (whether data- or theory-driven computational methods) to understand the mechanisms underpinning symptoms of anxiety, depression and/or psychosis.
  • Projects will need to include an experimental component in at least one experimental model (for example, cellular or animal model) and/or in human participants. Ideally projects will examine research questions at multiple scales of analysis – at least two from: molecular, cellular, systems neuroscience, cognitive, behavioural, interpersonal, socioenvironmental context.
  • Research projects should have a potential to contribute to translational work (either directly or over time) supporting real-world application. For example, this could include developing new knowledge that would advance early intervention by identifying potential new opportunities for the prediction, identification and/or intervention in anxiety, depression and/or psychosis.
